Want to be a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Personal Care Aide, Physical Therapy Aide, Personal Trainer, Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Medical Assistant, or Medical Lab Technician? Start here!
This course is designed to introduce students to a wide variety of paraprofessional careers in health occupations. Students are provided technical information and will engage in activities designed to develop practical skills needed in health occupations. Upon completion of this course, students can enter directly in to a number of entry-level positions in medical assisting, nurse assisting (with certification as a certified nurse assistant).
Students interested in respiratory therapist, physical therapist, and sports medicine will be given the opportunity to participate in a shadowing experience, which entails a structured theory in classroom, and a clinical experience with that particular professional during several workdays.
Students interested in continuing their education can choose from a wide variety of health related curriculum at colleges, universities, or medical facilities. If you like helping others or have an any interest in health care, this program can help you decide on the most appropriate health occupation for your future.
A biotechnology theory and lab component has been incorporated into the Health Occupations studies. One day a week, students are introduced to the study of biotechnology to spark an interest into the field of Medical Lab Technician. Click here for Health Occupations’ Program Guide. – Coming Soon
