Program Overview
Health Occupations -10 provides an introduction to students intending to enter the nursing field and is the level 1 requirement for the Nursing /Patient Care Technician tract. Students explore different types of health care careers and the educational requirements necessary. This program focuses on Safety, Infection Control, Legal and Ethical requirements, Medical Terminology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition and Hydration, Human Growth and Development, and patient care skills across the lifespan. Students learn theory in the classroom and are provided with opportunities to practice health care provider skills in the health lab.
