Cosmetology

Cosmetology is the art and science of beautifying the hair, skin, and nails.   It is currently one of the most sought-after professions today. Cosmetology is both a professional skill and the study of cosmetic treatments, combining science and artistry in various beauty techniques to enhance a person’s appearance.

This course is an instructional program of 1250 hours, which prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills related to experiences in a variety of beauty treatments, including the care and beautification of the hair, complexion, and hands.  Students are instructed in shampooing, rinsing, scalp treatments, hair styling, setting, cutting, tinting and bleaching, permanent waving, facial, and manicuring.   The instruction is designed to qualify students for the licensing examination in Pennsylvania.  Funding is available to those who qualify.

Barber to Cosmetology Crossover
This course is an instructional program of 695 hours that prepares a licensed barber to obtain their Cosmetology License.  The student will transfer into the program with 555 hours with their barber license.  The student will learn additional hair styling and setting, cutting, tinting, and beauty techniques. Additionally, a student will be taught the state cosmetology laws, rules, and regulations. Upon completion of the class, the student will be eligible to take the Pennsylvania State Cosmetology Exam.

Master Educator
The Master Educator program is designed to prepare a Cosmetologist to be a licensed instructor in the State of Pennsylvania. The 500-hour course will help potential instructors obtain the necessary knowledge to train student cosmetologists.   Students will learn how to prepare, organize, and present coursework. Upon successful completion of the coursework, the graduate will be able to take the Pennsylvania State Board Examination to become a licensed Cosmetology instructor.   
Esthetics 
This course follows the State of Pennsylvania Requirements to receive an Esthetics Certificate.   Upon completion of 300 hours, students will be able to take the PA State Board Exam for Esthetics. The program focuses on the beautification of the skin. Estheticians work in salons, spas, and medical offices providing services in facials, skin analysis, pore cleansing, face and body exfoliation, and waxing treatments. The instruction is designed to qualify students for the licensing examination in Pennsylvania. 
Nail Technician 
This course follows the State of Pennsylvania Requirements to receive a Nail Technician Certificate. Upon completion of 200 hours, students will be able to take the PA State Board Exam for Nail Technicians.  The program covers nail technology, including safety and sanitation, preparation, structure of nails, manicures, and pedicures, hand and foot massage techniques, diseases and disorders, nail wraps, tips, and nail art.  The instruction is designed to qualify students for the licensing examination in Pennsylvania.
