The Information Technology program is an innovative program designed to introduce students to the computer systems and software most commonly used by businesses.
Instruction and hands on training is provided in all aspects of computers including building, repair, and maintenance, with the goal of giving the students a well-rounded perspective that will allow them to obtain employment in the computer industry, or further their education at a post-secondary institution.
Students learn how to install and configure various operating systems and application suite software, as well as, how to troubleshoot them. Students are trained in computer hardware, personal and environmental safety, basic networking, security, and communication and professionalism.
When students complete the program, they will be prepared to sit for their PC Pro, and A+ certification.
To keep pace with the computer information systems in industry, new training options are continually added to the curriculum. Prospective students should possess the ability to think logically and problem solve. Basic computer, math, reading, and communication skills are a must.
